Sneak Peak: Jalysa

May 17, 2009

I’ve been meaning to update for a while… and even know I am typing as fast as my little finger will allow because I am late for our church picnic and I want to get there before all the good stuff is gone. lol

Before I go I will leave you with two photos from my Senior Session I shot with Jaylsa last Saturday. Now Jaylsa is normally the one I would call to help me with a session, however, because she was the one graduating I asked Chris aka “Huff” to tag along and help. I am so glad I did… If you can’t tell from these photos he kept us laughing all morning. More pictures to come later…

Pamela Telgenhoff: These are great! SO colorful!

jules: Love the 2nd one. The colors are awesome! But the last one -- the laughing shot -- I love that. Congratulations to both of you!

jules: Oops. Posted in sort of the wrong comment area, but also, sort of the right comment area. When I said "love the 2nd one," I meant the 2nd one in the post above this one! Doh! But I do love that laughing shot!

Jé: It's okay Jules... they are right behind each other so I understand. lol Thanks guys!

Jara, Keylan and I all new each other from our college days at the now Texas State, tho we knew it as SWT or S-Dub as it was referred to often back then. Wow… I am showing my age. At the time they got together, Rae and Keylan both worked at Financial Aide and I knew Keylan from singing in GEA’s (Gospel Expressions Associations) choir.

Every year the Mu Nu Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha holds an annual Love Gala. That year we were sitting in the Den eating lunch when a certain young Alpha named Clifton walks up to our table and asks if we would be attending this year. Rae replies, in a very sarcastic way I might add, “Who am I gonna go with?! Myself?!” lol We all laughed, but undaunted he points to both Rae and Keylan sitting side by side at our little square table, and says “Well… ya’ll can go together…”

We all laugh… again. lol But as our laughter died down, Keylan asks with all sincerity “What do you say, you wanna go together?!”

“You serious?!” my friend replies, turning to look at him out the corner of her eye. Almost as to check the validity of his invitation.

“Yeah! Let’s go!”

“Okay…”

And that was a wrap. I doubt they even thought about each other in a romantic manner before that, but I like to think that God orchestrated it ever so keenly so that they’d get together. When Keylan and Jara started dating, I can’t say that I was all that thrilled because I kept thinking, “Why is this boy consuming all of my best friend’s time?!” But if I had to get replaced in the best friend area, I’m not mad that it’s Keylan… anymore. lol I’m still a little salty at that rendition of “Boom I got your best friend… I got yo’ friend, I got her!” Not cool. Keylan not cool. lol

So it’s been a week since my friend walked down the aisle and became Mrs. Marshall… I shed a tear or two when I saw her mom tear up… And I saw you throw your shades on Mrs. Evans. You ain’t slick. lol I was in the actual wedding so it was shot by the talent Collins Metu who I always enjoy hanging out with.

I love watching Collins shoot because I can never figure out he can be so seriously on his game & still just be as laidback. Now that… that’s talent I tell you. lol I followed him and second shooter Akil around like a lil puppy dog after the ceremony to watch them in action. Which was not an easy as you may think in my heels. lol My feet were literally barking by the end of the nite, but it was well worth it. The photos on the blue doors are awesome. I can’t wait to see more!!!

Sylvia Borgo: Ooooh, the behind the scenes shots. Fun! :)

Jé: It was fun! I wish I had had a video camera. lol
