Seeing how my dad and I just got our internet working a few minutes to 12, I decided trying to make an actual post today would not work. And so that is what I got on to say. I also realized that I am kinda FORCING them a bit, and I got some many things I am trying to focus on right now… I don’t want to get blog burn out.
Next weekend I have a wedding in Houston so I am going to travel up there a few days early so I can hang out with my Houston friends. Yay! So yes. Maybe one or two post next week then I am out of commission because my dear friend Jazz does not have the internet yet.. or a computer. It’s okay boo. We still love you. lol
I guess this turned out longer than I expect. Goodnite.
I love checking out other people’s blogs when I have time. Usually when I need a break from editing AND don’t want to get caught up on facebook ( I swear that place is like crack sometimes). I’ll go thru different photographer blogs and check out their stuff! As much as possible I try to leave comments because I know how much I love comments, and I want to just spread that love around. lol
Well today I get an nice surprise in my inbox informing me that I am the 500 commenter on Courtney Reece’s blog and that my prize is a $15 Itunes gift card! I was so excited! I never win anything( does that make me a loser?!) so the was definitely a pleasant surprise and really made my day.
Anyways, since a post is ALWAYS better with a picture… Here is a photo of the bucket of KFC Original that I had to move Heaven and Earth to get for my dear sweet mother because she had a craving for it. Okay maybe not Heaven and Earth… but the new construction they have going on really had me turned around. Don’t you hate it when you can SEE where you are trying to go but just can’t seem to figure out how to get there?! I literally wanted to park my car at Bill Miller’s BBQ and just walk to KFC. lol Anyways, I hope you enjoyed the chicken Ma. Love ya!
Today is my niece Destiny’s 2nd birthday!!! How awesome is it to have turned to on 7-8-9?! lol Of course she will never remember it but it’s pretty interesting to me. Right now she is Germany with my brother and his family visiting his sister-in-law’s family. My cousin lives over there too and they got to visit why they were in town. Here are some random pics from their trip this Christmas.
This last one is my favorite. I could barely take the picture because I was cracking up. You see that Jazz hand?! lol She was really singing too, though I have no idea what she was saying. lol What do you think? Another Alicia Keys on our hands? Hmm? Maybe?! Happy Birthday Titi! I love you!
Well no picture today. Though I spent most of the day editing. Okay at least half the day editing. I, like a great deal of the world took time out of my day to watch the Michael Jackson memorial on… pick a channel… and it was very nice. Being the crybaby I am ashamed to admit, I am surprised I did not cry like I thought I was… even though Stevie and Jermaine Jackson sang two songs that normally tear at my heart strings, and I felt genuine sadness for Usher who looked like he was so heartbroken singing Gone Too Soon.
I think the only time I really cried was when Paris got up there to speak. Man… that just broke me down. It has to be hard to lose the only parent you’ve ever known and have it happen in front of the world. My heart really went out for the family, because yes we lost a great entertainer, but they lost a brother, a son and father and man that hurts.
Some people complained that it got too much attention. Hmmm… I don’t know… for a lot of us, we grew up on Michael, and I know when I heard that he passed, I felt like part of my childhood died with him. I still remember having just moved to Korea when the Bad album came out & my brothers and I jumping off my parents dresser on to their bed and just jammin out. lol Man my mother would’ve beat us senseless if she had caught us… but it’s a wonderful memory that we wouldn’t have had without his music.
So I say let people mourn… in no way do I feel we should worship the man, ( I was basically creeped out and felt a little uneasy when they sang we are going to sing the king when they brought his casket out) but I think we never really know how a person is affected by something such as this, so we have no right to judge or tell them to get over it… and as far as Michael’s personal life we ALL got some kind of issue and we need to thank the Lord every day we don’t have to deal with them in the media as he did.
With that I will get off my little soapbox. Here’s Usher’s rendition of Gone Too Soon. Very beautiful. Hug someone tight and tell them you love them. God bless…
So I didn’t get to post yesterday. It was 104 and that sun zapped the life out of me so a four hour nap was in order… that was ALMOST how much sleep I had the nite before. Well after the evening service my friends and I went to Applebee’s and by the time I got home, well a post would’ve been on today anyway. lol
Though I stayed out late, there was no sleeping in early today because my dad was going to have a segment on the local talk show called Great Day SA. He was going to be talking about the Math Camp we are going to be having at our church in August. It’s a really awesome idea they came up with last year to help kids sharpen their math skills for the TAKS test (which if you live in Texas you probably know ALL about…) and have fun doing it.
I, along with a lot of our church family and kids that had participated in the Math Camp piled in the studio to support him. And I can honestly say I had an AWESOME time. I was clapping when no one else was clapping… lol Ken was doing the Arsenio Hall, Whoo Whoo Whoo… lol Chik-fil-A also did a segment on the show and they had this AWESOME spread and gave away free food. There were Chik-fil-A cows and everything. Yep. AWESOME!!! lol
We weren’t able to take pictures during the show because it’s taped live… but I was able to take some before the show and after so I’ll post a few up so you can see. I think it’s funny that so many people wanted to sit at the News desk. I was crackin up! lol Thanks Bridget, Kellie and Amy for making us feel so welcome!!! And Amy I hope you don’t find any more squirrels in your home anytime soon. lol
